Cielo is a non-binary activist and Founder/Executive Director of The Queer Trans Project in Jacksonville, which provides free gender-empowering resources to LGBTQ+ people nationwide. Cielo also serves as the Communications Associate for Equality Florida, was named one of eighteen “influential LGBTQIA+ people of the Black diaspora” by the University of North Florida LGBTQ Center, and received the prestigious Louis Mitchell Foundation Award for Empowerment in 2023. They have been featured in Rolling Stone, Them, and on ABC News, and are also part of NASA’s Astrophysics database of IDEA practitioners. Lived experience drives Cielo’s ongoing advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, and people with disabilities.
